We aim to keep you, as parents, well-informed about what is going on at the school and how your child is progressing with their learning.

Practical information outlines fees and costs, dates, transport options, uniforms and after-school care.

Starting school

Starting school is exciting for your child, but we know it can raise a lot of questions for parents - so here are some answers.

Connecting to the classroom

Birkenhead Primary School uses the latest technology to help you stay connected with what’s happening in your child’s classroom. Your child’s login and password for these systems is provided at the beginning of each year. If you need to be reminded of the login details, email the office.

Login to AtSchool
AtSchool (eTap) is an online system that lets you look at up-to-date information about your child’s learning, including their assessment data. You can see how your child has progressed in reading, writing and maths throughout their time at school.

Login to KnowledgeNet
KnowledgeNet is like an online classroom. You can view samples of your child's classroom work, look at photos of their school activities and help them to upload special artwork or other treasures from home.

Getting involved

We warmly welcome parents to get involved with the school. Here are just some of the opportunities:

  • offer classroom assistance. Help children with their work and support your child’s teacher by reading, playing games, or assisting with projects. No special skills required – just come along and offer your time and enthusiasm! Contact a teacher for more information.
  • be parent help. School trips and events often require parent volunteers. Watch the school notices for requests for parent assistance.
  • become a walking school bus driver (see information below) and help get children walking to school
  • join the PTA. Our Parent Teacher Association is made up of other parents like you who meet regularly to organise special events and school fundraising activities. Find out more about our PTA
  • stand for the Board of Trustees. The Board is responsible for governing the school, and meets monthly to work towards the school’s future. Find out more about our Board
