Athletics

On Thursday the 25th of November a group of children from year 4 - 6 represented the school at the Inter-schools Athletics Day. There were seven schools in total competing in a range of sports including high jump, long jump, shot-put, softball throw and sprint events. Overall the children did a great job at showing sportsmanship by encouraging each other and trying their best at each activity.  Well done to those children who came away with a 1st, 2nd or 3rd certificate too!   Here is Unaiki competing in the high jump. Our thanks to Miss Weir for organising such a great day for our Cluster athletes, and our special thanks to Rob Barker and Tyrrell Jaggard of Calliope Athletics, for their generous support on the day. (They also commented on how well the children encouraged each other.)

Pikiake fun day

Please join Pikiake Classes to see out the 2017 School Year with a Fun Sports Activity Afternoon and Shared Lunch on Wednesday 14th December 11:30-1.

Library

The end of the year is nearly here.   Can everybody please have a search at home for any School library books that may be lying around.  We have lost about 60 books for the year.  We seem to lose the most popular books.

Yr 6 pupils must have all their books in by the 2nd as this gives us time to follow up on outstanding books.  For the rest of the school, the last day for issues will be the 2nd of December.  All books should be back in the library no later than the 9th of December.  In the last week the library will be closed to do administrative work.

Mr Houghton and Mrs Jones.
