School Hall

Birkenhead Primary School Hall is on the road frontage to Mokoia Road in the Highbury shopping area. The Hall can accommodate the whole school for assemblies or performances. There is a small raised stage area in addition to the main floor area, and stackable seating for two hundred is stored in the 'backstage' area. The Hall has an upright piano. In the foyer there are unisex toilet facilities, a kitchen, and an additional meeting space known as the Forsman Room.

The Hall is for hire to outside community groups during evenings or weekends. Hire can be for one-off or ongoing events.

Grounds

The school is located in the heart of the Birkenhead shopping area. It is surrounded by roads, commercial enterprises and the Birkenhead Bowling Club. The school has two entranceways: one from Mokoia Road and one from the carpark of the Birkenhead Mall.

Our school grounds slope down to the north, to a large fully-fenced playing field for sporting and other outdoor events. School buildings are low-rise, with a mix of modern architecture and older pre-fabs. A central group of prefabs were refurbished, and our school library enlarged in 2010. The school has a small heated swimming pool which is ideal for teaching junior children to swim.

The grounds are available for community use - sports team training sessions, fitness circuits.
